1. Scope and Applicability

This PCR covers unfermented fruit juices classified as other fruit juices, n.e.c., including single-fruit juices from fruit species not assigned to the five separately named CPC subclasses and mixtures of fruit juices. Directly expressed juice, juice reconstituted from concentrate, and concentrated juice are covered when the declared product remains fruit juice and its fruit species, concentration state, soluble-solids basis, preservation route, packaging format, and storage condition are stated.

Orange, grapefruit, pineapple, grape, and apple juices are excluded because CPC assigns them separate subclasses. Vegetable juice, fruit nectar, fruit purée sold as purée, fermented or alcoholic beverages, flavoured drinks that do not meet the applicable fruit-juice identity, and downstream retail or consumer use are excluded. The foreground boundary starts with fruit, juice, or concentrate received at the juice-processing site and ends with the declared bulk or packaged juice at the factory gate.
