1. Scope and Applicability

This PCR covers foreground production of undenatured ethyl alcohol whose alcoholic strength is at least 80% by volume, delivered as a saleable bulk or packaged product at the production-site gate. It covers ethanol made by fermentation of sugar-, starch-, or lignocellulose-derived substrates and the required distillation and rectification steps. Route-specific feed preparation, fermentation, product recovery, storage, dispatch preparation, on-site utilities, residue management, and wastewater treatment are included when operated by the reporting site.

Upstream cultivation or collection of biomass, manufacture of purchased feedstocks, enzymes, chemicals, energy, water, and packaging, and inbound transport are represented by linked background datasets.
