1. Scope and Applicability
This PCR applies to whole or cut potatoes preserved by freezing and supplied as an uncooked product or after boiling or steaming in water. It covers the factory-gate production of the frozen potato product, including raw-potato receiving and preparation, any declared boiling or steaming step, freezing, packaging, and the declared period of frozen storage at the producing facility.
Frozen mashed potatoes, frozen French fries, frozen potato chips, potatoes precooked in fat or oil, seasoned prepared potato dishes, and products whose defining transformation is frying, mashing, baking, or formulation with other principal ingredients are outside this PCR. Agricultural production of the incoming potatoes is represented by an upstream dataset rather than recreated inside the foreground factory process. Outbound distribution, retail storage, consumer preparation, and end-of-life are outside the default factory-gate boundary unless the study explicitly extends the scope and reports those stages separately.
The PCR produces foreground data packages for a declared product, facility, technology, geography, and reference period. Candidate ranges below are deliberately broad QA screens, not default inventory values. They must be replaced by foreground measurements or reviewed source-backed evidence when used for publication-critical modelling.
