1. Scope and Applicability
This PCR applies to single-component frozen bean products manufactured from clean, sound, succulent bean pods or immature bean seeds. It covers green beans, wax beans, lima beans, and comparable beans that are received fresh, prepared, blanched where required for product stability, rapidly frozen, packaged or placed in a declared bulk container, and held frozen to the processing-facility gate.
The foreground boundary begins with fresh beans received at the processing facility. Upstream cultivation and delivery of fresh beans are represented by linked supplier datasets. The foreground includes receiving, trimming or shelling when applicable, washing, sorting, cutting when applicable, blanching, cooling, draining or dewatering, quick freezing, packaging, and frozen storage through dispatch from the facility gate.
This PCR excludes dried beans, canned or otherwise shelf-stable beans, peas, mixed vegetables, seasoned prepared dishes, bean purées, and products for which beans are not the reference product. Distribution after the declared facility gate, retail storage, cooking, consumption, and end-of-life are outside the default boundary.
