1. Scope and Applicability
This PCR supports foreground data packages for coffee extracts and concentrates, soluble or instant coffee, preparations based on coffee extracts or coffee, coffee-containing substitutes, and roasted chicory or other roasted coffee substitutes and their extracts. It covers factory operations from receipt of declared roasted coffee, chicory, substitute ingredients, or purchased extract through extraction or blending, concentration, optional drying, and packaging at the manufacturing gate.
The Tiangong reference product flow is the real flow Instant Coffee / 速溶咖啡. It is representative of CPC 23912, but it is not a generic identity for every product in the category. A data package for liquid or paste coffee extract, a coffee-based preparation, roasted chicory, or another substitute product shall select and verify a more specific Tiangong product flow before publication; the instant-coffee UUID shall not be relabelled or reused for those products.
Coffee cultivation, primary processing of coffee cherries, manufacture of green coffee, upstream roasting performed by a supplier, distribution, beverage preparation by the user, and end-of-life after the factory gate are represented by linked upstream or downstream datasets when required by the study, not by the foreground processes in this PCR. If roasting, ingredient manufacture, or packaging manufacture occurs at the reporting site, the corresponding foreground operation shall be added and disclosed.

|---|---|---|---|---|
reference_mass | Net reference product | Mass 93a60a56-a3c8-11da-a746-0800200b9a66 | kg | Normalize foreground inputs and outputs to 1 kg net saleable product. Record gross packaged mass separately and do not count packaging in the product reference mass. |
product_form_dry_matter | Dried, paste, and liquid extracts | Mass fraction | kg/kg or % by mass | Record dry-matter test result and method. For EU-market coffee extract, screen against Directive 1999/4/EC: at least 95% coffee-based dry matter for dried extract, 70–85% for paste, and 15–55% for liquid extract; use the applicable jurisdictional specification elsewhere. |

energy_conversion | Purchased electricity, fuels, steam, refrigeration, and compressed air | Energy | kWh or MJ | Preserve measured billing or meter units and conversion factors. Do not convert energy carriers to mass without a documented lower or higher heating value and basis. |
water_balance | Process water and wastewater | Mass or volume | kg or m3 | Use measured mass or volume; if volume is converted to mass, record temperature-dependent density or an explicit justified approximation. |

7. Allocation and Co-product Handling

allocation_avoid | Multi-output foreground processes | First avoid allocation through process subdivision, separate metering, and mass balance, including separate accounting for recovered aroma, coffee oil, reusable condensate, internally recycled fines, and saleable co-products. | iso-14044-2006; eu-pef-method-2021 |
allocation_physical_then_other | Unavoidable shared burdens | When subdivision is not feasible, use a documented physical causal relationship.
