1. Scope and Applicability
This PCR applies to finished radio broadcast receivers designed for installation and use in road motor vehicles and dependent on an external vehicle electrical supply. It covers standalone head units and integrated receiver, audio, or infotainment units when radio reception remains a declared product function. A covered unit may incorporate a display, audio amplification, media reproduction, connectivity, or navigation; those combined functions and the delivered configuration must be declared.
The foreground manufacturing package starts with purchased electronic components and assemblies, mechanical parts, displays, amplifier or navigation modules, wiring harnesses, installation accessories, consumables, and packaging at the reporting organization's receiving gate. It covers the controlled assembly, integration, programming, functional and electrical testing, rework, waste preparation, and packaging operations needed to deliver a finished receiver at the manufacturer's gate. Purchased component production and material extraction require upstream datasets unless performed within the reporting organization.
Excluded are portable or battery-powered receivers capable of operating without external power; receivers not designed for motor vehicles; antennas, loudspeakers, displays, amplifiers, navigation devices, wiring harnesses, or mounting parts supplied alone; complete vehicles; repair services; and a rule written for only one vehicle model or proprietary stock-keeping unit. A product-specific dataset may represent a single model, but it must declare how that model fits this category.
2. Product Category Identity

| excluded_products | Self-powered or portable receivers; non-vehicle receivers; standalone antennas, loudspeakers, displays, amplifiers, navigation devices, wiring harnesses, or installation parts; complete vehicles; repair services; and methodology restricted to one vehicle model. |
| representative_product | A finished vehicle radio receiver or integrated receiver/audio/infotainment unit, tested, configured, and supplied at the manufacturer's gate. |
| production_route | Receipt of purchased components and materials; electronic assembly when performed; mechanical and functional-module integration; firmware configuration; functional and electrical testing; rework and waste preparation; packaging and dispatch. |

3. Reference Flow
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| What | Finished externally vehicle-powered radio broadcast receiver for use in a road motor vehicle. |
| How much | 1 kg net mass of accepted finished receiver output at the manufacturer's gate, including wiring harnesses and installation accessories supplied as part of the unit and excluding separately reported distribution packaging. |
| How well | Functionally tested and released in the declared standalone-head-unit or integrated-unit form, with declared supported radio bands, external vehicle power requirements, combined functions, and delivery configuration. |
| How long or cycle | One declared manufacturing reporting period; service life and in-vehicle operation are not part of the foreground manufacturing reference flow and require a separately declared use scenario. |
| reference_flow_link | The accepted finished output of packaging_and_delivery, normalized to 1 kg net delivered receiver mass. |
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Reference amount | 1 |
| Reference product flow | Radio broadcast receivers not capable of operating without an external source of power, of a kind used in motor vehicles 0d100766-4820-4747-aea0-1185a8c4383a |
| Reference flow property | Mass 93a60a56-a3c8-11da-a746-0800200b9a66 |
| Reference unit group | Units of mass 93a60a57-a4c8-11da-a746-0800200c9a66 |
| Reference unit | kg |
| Required qualifiers | product form: standalone head unit or integrated unit; supported radio bands; external vehicle power specification; incorporated display, amplification, navigation, media, and connectivity functions; included wiring harnesses and installation accessories; operating, idle or standby, and automatic power-down modes and measured power where applicable; net unit mass; separately reported packaging mass; delivery state; production geography; reporting period |
When constructing a foreground data package, the items listed in Required qualifiers must be declared in dataset metadata, process notes, reference flow comment, product description, or an equivalent data package field. Missing required qualifiers make the reference flow definition incomplete for that data package.
4. Measurement and Unit Rules
| rule_id | Applies to | Required property | Required unit | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|---|
reference_mass | accepted finished receiver and included wiring/installation accessories | Mass 93a60a56-a3c8-11da-a746-0800200b9a66 | kg | Weigh or derive from controlled bill-of-material and shipment records the net accepted receiver mass. Include harnesses and installation accessories delivered as part of the unit; exclude distribution packaging and report it separately. |
manufacturing_energy | electricity used by assembly, integration, programming, testing, rework, and packaging | Energy | kWh | Record metered or invoice-reconciled electricity by process and reporting period and normalize it to accepted net receiver output mass. Preserve the declared electricity dataset geography and voltage level. |
power_modes | operating, decoding, idle or standby, and automatic power-down behavior | Power | W | Measure power at the declared external vehicle DC supply condition. Record input voltage, current or direct power, supported band and signal condition, audio output/load condition, display state, amplifier state, navigation/connectivity state, and mode duration. Do not substitute nameplate maximum power for measured operating or idle/standby power. |
variant_aggregation | multi-model or multi-configuration foreground datasets | Mass and process-specific properties | declared units | Use production-mass-weighted results across included variants. Retain variant-level form, function, power, accessory, and delivery-state records and disclose the production mix; do not extrapolate one vehicle model to the entire category. |
mass_balance | material inputs, accepted products, rework, rejects, and wastes | Mass | kg | Reconcile opening stock, receipts, closing stock, accepted output, reusable rework, and waste for each reporting period. Report unresolved imbalance and the treatment of returned-to-process material. |

| starting_condition_role | Foreground manufacturing entry point for component receipt, controlled transformation, integration, testing, and delivery of the finished receiver. |
| product_classification_scope | Finished externally vehicle-powered radio broadcast receivers for motor vehicles; combined functions are included only when integrated into the delivered receiver unit. |
| recursive_input_rule | A purchased finished receiver or functionally equivalent integrated receiver unit is recorded as an upstream product input with a separate conforming dataset and is not re-created through the foreground process map. |
| upstream_dataset_requirement | Use upstream datasets for purchased components, materials, electricity, consumables, packaging, and external waste treatment. Supplier-specific component and material declarations are preferred when available. |
| disclosure | Declare organizational control, manufacturing geography, included and excluded component-production steps, standalone or integrated form, supported bands, external power specification, combined functions, delivered harness/accessory set, packaging state, use-phase inclusion or exclusion, and any cut-off or data gap. |

7. Allocation and Co-product Handling
| rule_id | Applies to | Rule | source_ids |
|---|---|---|---|
allocation_avoid_by_subdivision | shared assembly, test, rework, utilities, and packaging operations | Prefer direct metering, batch records, and process subdivision. When residual sharing remains, use a physical driver that reflects resource use, document the driver, and apply it consistently. | iso-14044-2006; iec-63366-2025 |
allocation_variant_mix | multiple receiver models or configurations in one dataset | Calculate production-mass-weighted foreground amounts from variant-level output mass and process records. Disclose included variants and combined-function mix; do not represent the whole category with one model unless the dataset scope is explicitly that model. | iso-14044-2006 |
allocation_rework | failed, repaired, and retested units | Retain original and rework burdens with accepted output. Returned-to-process parts and units are not burden-free co-products. | iso-14044-2006 |
allocation_waste_recycling | scrap and wastes sent to recycling, recovery, or disposal | Record waste quantity and actual treatment route. Apply recycling credits or avoided-burden treatment only under the declared downstream LCA method, with substitution assumptions and sensitivity disclosed; do not create an implicit credit in the foreground inventory. | iso-14044-2006; iec-63366-2025 |
