Classification mapping
Source
1. Scope and Applicability
Covers undressed, untanned raw furskins suitable for furrier use: qualifying whole pelts and heads, tails, paws or cuttings. Declare actual species, lawful farm or wild source, fur-on configuration, whole/piece composition, grade, fresh or first-stage preserved state, net mass and handover gate. A lamb pelt belongs here only if its actual market identity is furrier-use furskin; an ordinary sheep/lamb raw hide remains outside. Exclude dressed or tanned fur, manufactured fur articles, detached hair, ordinary bovine/equine/sheep/goat raw hides and non-furrier other skins. Hair alone does not establish the category.
2. Product Category Identity

| classification_refs | CPC 3.0 02955 |
| covered_products | Undressed furrier-suitable whole pelts and qualifying pieces, fresh or first-stage preserved. |
| excluded_products | Dressed or tanned fur, manufactured articles, detached hair, ordinary hides and non-furrier skins. |

3. Reference Flow
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| What | Accepted raw furrier-suitable furskin or qualifying pieces at actual handover. |
| How much | 1 kg net as-sold raw skin excluding package and removable free preservative. |
| How well | Species, fur quality, whole/piece composition, grade, legal source, raw state and gate declared. |
| How long or cycle | Link farm cohort or wild capture event, removal, preservation and shared service to actual reporting periods. |
| reference_flow_link | accepted_furskin |
| Field | Value |

| Reference amount | 1 |
| Reference product flow | Species/state/gate-qualified raw furskin |

| Required qualifiers | species; lawful source; whole/piece; fur quality; grade; fresh/preserved; net mass; gate; period |
4. Measurement and Unit Rules
| rule_id | Applies to | Required property | Required unit | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| m_net | each material lot | Mass | kg | Calibrated gross and tare; exclude packaging and free preservative; reconcile each actual material destination. |
| m_piece | piece-count markets | Mass and Number of items | kg and item | Record both mass and count on one homogeneous lot; calculate observed kg/item only for that species, grade, configuration and state. |
| m_state | preserved lots | Mass and moisture fraction | kg and kg/kg | Measure before/after state; do not convert fresh to preserved using a universal factor. |
| m_period | source and shared service | Time | reporting period | Link real cohort or capture season, service, outputs and replacement/termination to nonoverlapping periods. |
inventory_reference_normalization | all inventory rows | Actual flow property | exchange unit per reference flow | The inventory and collection aggregation fields below express final amounts per declared reference flow. Keep all raw collection records, original denominator qualifiers, route/period strata, unit conversions and allocation requirements. For each flow, first obtain its attributable amount in its own numerator unit using the existing rules; then divide by the measured accepted reference-output quantity of the same scope and multiply by the declared reference quantity. Do not mix species, states, gates or incompatible routes; count transfers and shared burdens once. A missing, zero or untraceable accepted-output denominator is a blocking data-quality issue. Keep provisional QA ranges on their explicitly stated bases; they are not conversion factors or production defaults. These are final foreground-package contributions, not replacements for stage quantitative references or stage-native unit-process datasets. Retain stage records separately. Compute normalized amount = attributable raw amount * declared reference quantity / measured accepted final reference-output quantity. Apply normalization exactly once. |
stage_throughput_linkage | stage records and final package contributions | Actual flow property and its stated raw basis | retain native numerator and stage denominator units | Keep the original lot, event, cohort, period and stage denominators with their units. Reconstruct the attributable numerator A with measured stage quantity Q_stage and documented attribution before final normalization. If a quoted amount a_B corresponds to an explicit stage basis B_stage (for example, 1000 kg), use A = a_B * Q_stage / B_stage. If r_stage is already an intensity in exchange-unit per stage-unit, instead use A = r_stage * Q_stage, with no second division by B_stage. A raw attributable total is used directly. Final contribution = A * declared reference quantity / measured accepted final output. Convert compatible units explicitly and apply each attribution/allocation share exactly once; never treat a quoted amount or intensity as a raw total. Link stage transfers, losses, rejects, stocks, shared services and allocation to the same actual route, period and final-output stratum. For a 1000 kg basis retain 1000 kg explicitly. Do not assume unit yield, equal fresh/dried mass, equal head mass, equal dose quality or interchangeable gates. Missing links, unsupported unit conversion, zero denominators and untraceable allocation block dataset production. Stage-native datasets retain their own stage reference; package contributions are a separate projection. |
5. System Boundary
Boundary Abstraction
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| declared_starting_condition | Traceable farm cohort or lawful wild capture event with species and legal status. |
| starting_condition_role | Compatible upstream farm or wild-capture datasets carry actual source burdens. Foreground source event is an interface ledger when upstream already includes capture or slaughter; do not repeat exchanges. Wild route has no managed farm phase. |
| product_classification_scope | Raw, undressed and untanned furrier-suitable pelts and qualifying parts. |
| recursive_input_rule | Purchased same-category raw furskin retains supplier burden and is not newly captured here. |
| upstream_dataset_requirement | Source-specific farm or lawful capture inventory and actual slaughter/removal service; no automatic zero or whole-animal burden. |
| disclosure | Species, legality, route, actual co-products, configuration, condition, shared service, periods and gate. |
Boundary Rules
| rule_id | Applies to | Rule | source_ids |
|---|---|---|---|
| b_source | source | Separate farm from lawful wild capture. Include actual co-products only when independently marketed; do not repeat upstream animal or capture operations. | un-cpc-3-notes |
| b_remove | skin removal | Distinct capture/source and removal events; identify raw fur-on output, incidental tissue and losses, and handoff before first cleaning. | fao-hides-skins |
| b_condition | first preparation | Include only actual fleshing, cleaning and trimming; exclude dressing, tanning and manufacturing. | fao-hides-skins;eu-raw-furskin-heading |
| b_grade | grading | Separate accepted whole/pieces, saleable downgrade and waste, each with its own destination. Ordinary sheep hide cannot become furskin by hair alone. | un-cpc-3-notes;eu-raw-furskin-heading |
| b_preserve | treated lots | Fresh lots bypass; actual cold, drying or salt stabilization records before/after state, inputs and rejected material. | fao-hides-skins |
| b_gate | handover | Include protective presentation up to actual collection/curing gate; exclude distribution and downstream fur dressing. | un-cpc-3-notes |
6. Process Inventory Structure
Process Map
| process_id | process_name | inclusion | inclusion_condition | role | quantitative_reference |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| source | Farm or lawful wild source | required | every lot | Trace actual source events and co-products; no fictional husbandry for wild capture. | per kg node output |
| remove | Independent skin removal | required | every lot | Remove fur-on skin independently of source event and first preparation. | per kg node output |
| condition | First raw preparation | required | actual first preparation; ledger if none | First cleaning/fleshing/trimming without dressing or tanning. | per kg node output |
| grade | Furrier-use grading | required | every lot | Separate whole/piece accepted grades, downgraded sale and rejected waste. | per kg node output |
| preserve | Optional raw preservation | conditional | preserved lots only | Stabilize a usable raw state without dressing/tanning; fresh lots bypass. | per kg node output |
| handover | Protective handover | required | every accepted lot | Present fresh or preserved accepted raw skin at actual gate, excluding distribution. | per kg node output |
Farm periods or wild-capture seasons, removal, cleaning and preservation can span periods. Attribute actual events and shared traps, tools or cold rooms to consuming nodes only once. These six nodes are responsibilities, not invented site activities.

Raw milk of the declared farmed species before its terminal event (earlier_period_raw_milk_product)
Conditional on this exact material being independently intended and actually handed over inside the existing process boundary. Record actual species/material, physical form, grade, moisture/composition where relevant, lot, recipient, quantity and gate. A named example does not establish actual production or a default recipe. 8. Foreground Data Collection, Calculation, and Quality Rules
Specific input identification before dataset completion
Identify the actual input for this operation from supplier specifications, equipment and primary records. This is a mandatory collection requirement, not an exchange. Before dataset completeness, represent each used material, formulated product, carrier or independently purchased service by one physically specific card with its native quantity/property; confirm a compatible UUID, or retain an explicit unresolved identity and do not claim a fully linked dataset. Do not substitute a conditional example for an unknown actual input, invent a recipe, omit required use or infer zero from missing records. Attribute shared use, reusable assets and inclusive services once; preserve the original stage/period and measured throughput link to final reference output. The former aggregate range is not a component limit or consumption default.

handover_packaging_specific_input | cp_handover | Operation handover: Identify single-use consumption or reusable turns; no packaging if absent. Denominator and scope requirements:per kg Protective handover output Raw quantity and calculation requirements: Identify single-use consumption or reusable turns; no packaging if absent. Original collection denominator kind: process_output. Original quantity method: Calculate the attributable final-package exchange under inventory_reference_normalization and stage_throughput_linkage using the matched raw records. |
Route-specific energy identification requirements
Select energy exchanges from the actual product state, operation, equipment and supply records. The conditional cards below are not a mandatory or exhaustive fuel list. For each requirement, document applicability and the used carrier, supplier, service period, native quantity and allocation; add a separate physically specific card and verify its UUID for any actual input not yet represented. An unidentified input remains an explicit completeness gap, never a zero or a generic energy exchange. Evidence of manual work, ambient drying or a bypass can justify non-use only for the affected operation. Preserve every required operation even when no example card is supplied.
Separate purchased supply from on-site conversion. Link self-generated electricity internally to the foreground generator and count its actual fuel and emissions there once; do not also charge a purchased-electricity supply for the same internal transfer. Likewise do not count supplier-side fuel again with purchased heat. Reconcile shared meters and contractor-included energy against existing cards, with one physical quantity assigned once. Retain source quantities, output throughput, shared-service allocation and excluded post-gate activities. For each carrier, apply period/output attribution once and scale to the declared reference quantity using matched accepted final output in the same product unit; do not normalize an already normalized amount again. Process-native intensities require a measured throughput link to that final output. These requirements do not set a consumption default or certify dataset completeness.

handover_reject_specific_exchanges | handover | Enumerate rejected raw furskins and each actual packaging-waste material as separate actual streams. Measure each physical stream with its own composition, state, native unit, lot/period and destination; instantiate one atomic card per specific stream and boundary role. Distinguish waste transfer, purchased treatment and substance-specific discharge; do not treat a disposal service as the wastewater itself or duplicate treatment burdens. Keep stock, rework, marketed downgrade and discarded waste separate, and count physical mixtures once without also counting their components as additional exits. Retain the linked protocol and actual process attribution. Reconstruct each attributable raw numerator on its recorded stage basis, then normalize once to the matched accepted reference output. Missing identity, quantity, unit or destination blocks dataset completeness; absence requires evidence, not an assumed zero. | cp_handover | Separate atomic exchanges; completeness required | |
preserve_residue_identity_and_fate | preserve | Identify each actually separate material stream, composition, state and recipient. Keep spent preservation agents, brine, animal/plant material, packaging, drainage and intended co-products separate when separately handled; instantiate only streams actually evidenced at this operation. A physically mixed stream may have one composition-defined identity only with compatible treatment evidence, without also counting its components as additional exports. Distinguish marketed outputs, internal rework, waste transfer, purchased treatment and elementary discharge; do not duplicate treatment burdens. This replaces an ambiguous aggregate exchange, not the collection obligation. Before dataset completeness, create one concrete card per actual exchange, verify a compatible UUID or retain an explicit unresolved identity, and record quantity, unit, stage/period, destination and evidence. Reconstruct the raw attributable numerator from the linked protocol and normalize once to the matched accepted reference output. Missing data is not zero; no range of the former aggregate is an individual-stream default. | cp_preserve | Identity-specific exchanges and reconciled activity records | |
preserve_agent_identity_and_fate | preserve | For the original preserve_agent collection role at this operation, identify the actual physical form, species/material, composition, state and supply/treatment boundary before creating exchanges. Each seed lot, transplant, crown, cutting, larval stage, formulation, coating, preservative or separated residue actually used/generated requires its own concrete card where relevant to this role; these examples are alternatives, not a required recipe. Retain existing collection records and route-specific source evidence. Count-based planting records require measured or supplier-supported mass-per-unit when matched to a mass-based provider; retain count and mass as linked attributes rather than two purchases. Do not merge separate husk/shell or separate agents. A real mixed stream requires composition and recipient evidence and is counted once. Before completeness, record every applicable amount and native unit, link a compatible verified UUID or explicitly unresolved identity, preserve stock/return attribution, and normalize the attributable raw quantity once to the accepted reference output. Missing records are not zero; aggregate ranges are not individual-input defaults. | cp_preserve | Identity-specific exchanges and reconciled activity records |
