1. Scope and Applicability
This PCR defines foreground data production for the retail winding and packaging of finished man-made filament yarn other than sewing thread. It applies when the foreground facility is in China and receives saleable, composition- and construction-defined filament yarn that has completed all polymer production, filament formation, texturing, twisting, dyeing, and finishing required by the final product before crossing this foreground boundary.
The reference amount is net yarn mass. Paperboard cores, labels, and outer film are inventoried separately and are not included in the reference amount. This candidate does not cover sewing thread, yarn made from staple fibres, fibre tow, fabrics, upstream filament manufacture, wet processing performed at the foreground site, retail distribution, use, or end-of-life.

| classification_refs | CPC 3.0: 26422, Man-made filament yarn (other than sewing thread), put up for retail sale |
| covered_products | Saleable retail packages of synthetic or artificial continuous-filament yarn, including mono- or multifilament and single, multiple, or cabled constructions, provided the product is not sewing thread and its fibre composition, construction, linear density, colour, finish, and package form are declared. |
| excluded_products | Sewing thread; yarn made from man-made staple fibres; filament tow; yarn not put up for retail sale as the final market state; woven, knitted, or tufted fabrics; products whose twisting, dyeing, washing, heat setting, or other wet or thermal finishing occurs inside the declared foreground boundary. |
| representative_product | Finished man-made filament yarn wound on one paperboard retail core, supplied with one paper label and, when used, one low-density polyethylene outer film, reported by net yarn mass. |
| production_route | Receipt of finished non-retail filament yarn -> lot verification and tare control -> mechanical retail winding -> labelling and outer-film packing -> saleable packaged yarn at plant gate. |
| market_state | Saleable retail put-up at the gate of a China retail-winding and packaging plant; distribution beyond the plant gate is excluded. |

| Required qualifiers | fibre origin as synthetic or artificial; polymer or regenerated-cellulosic fibre family and mass fraction; mono- or multifilament form; yarn construction and ply or cable status; linear density in tex with the measurement or conversion basis; colour and dyeing or finishing state; retail package form; net yarn mass excluding packaging; foreground production geography; electricity supply scenario |
When constructing a foreground data package, the items listed in Required qualifiers must be declared in dataset metadata, process notes, reference flow comment, product description, or an equivalent data package field. Missing required qualifiers make the reference flow definition incomplete for that data package.

| declared_starting_condition | Finished man-made filament yarn, other than sewing thread, whose fibre composition, filament form, yarn construction, linear density, colour, and dyeing or finishing state already match the retail product, received net of producer transport packaging. |
| starting_condition_role | Upstream product input to the foreground retail-winding and packaging process. |

|---|---|---|---|
allocation_avoid_by_separation | all foreground exchanges | Avoid allocation by using batch-specific material, electricity, product, and waste records and by subdividing separately metered or separately weighed operations. | iso-14044-2006, eu-bat-textiles-2022 |
allocation_shared_electricity | shared electricity meters | When subdivision is not feasible, allocate metered electricity to the batch using documented machine operating time and measured equipment power or another demonstrated physical causal parameter; disclose the method and retain the calculation inputs. | iso-14044-2006, jrc-textiles-bref-2023 |
allocation_no_avoided_burden | yarn and packaging waste | Report each waste stream and destination as a foreground waste output. Do not credit avoided virgin production or downstream recycling inside this foreground process; model downstream treatment in the linked waste-management system. | jrc-textiles-bref-2023 |
Validation rules · 8
| Rule ID | Applies to | Rule | Source IDs |
|---|---|---|---|
validate_reference_identity | reference flow | Require product UUID 561c51b1-b4f9-4eea-b081-e096bf93820b, Mass UUID 93a60a56-a3c8-11da-a746-0800200b9a66, Units of mass UUID 93a60a57-a4c8-11da-a746-0800200c9a66, and reference unit kg. | unsd-cpc-3-0-structure-2025 |
validate_required_qualifiers | reference product | Reject a foreground package that omits any required fibre, construction, linear-density, finishing, package-form, net-mass, geography, or electricity-scenario qualifier. | iso-1144-2016, unsd-cpc-3-0-structure-2025 |
validate_foreground_boundary | process scope | Reject double counting of upstream polymer, filament, texturing, twisting, dyeing, or finishing burdens in retail_winding_packaging; require the upstream received-yarn dataset and boundary disclosure. | jrc-textiles-bref-2023, iso-14044-2006 |
validate_atomic_inventory | inventory rows | Require one physical or chemical exchange per row_id and require the bilingual files to preserve the same ordered row_id, flow type, UUID, and controlled machine fields. | eu-bat-textiles-2022 |
validate_yarn_mass_balance | yarn inputs and outputs | Require the batch yarn mass reconciliation, an explained residual, and direct records for net product and yarn waste; do not substitute an estimated yield or loss range. | eu-bat-textiles-2022 |
validate_packaging_reconciliation | packaging inputs and waste | Require separate mass reconciliation for paperboard core, paper label, and LDPE film, including evidence for any zero or absent film and separately identified waste. | jrc-textiles-bref-2023, eu-bat-textiles-2022 |
validate_electricity_scenario | electricity | Require foreground electricity records and verify that the selected 1-35 kV CN consumption-mix flow matches the site geography and supply voltage; reject proxy use outside the declared scenario. | jrc-textiles-bref-2023, eu-bat-textiles-2022 |
validate_no_unresolved_uuid_as_match | unresolved inventory identities | Keep an unresolved selected flow human-readable and atomic, but do not claim a Tiangong identity until a future hybrid search and public direct read confirm the exact flow type and semantics. |
