1. Scope and Applicability

This PCR defines foreground data production from mature fresh vanilla pods received at the curing facility through hot-water killing, sweating/curing, staged drying, conditioning/equilibration, grading, any selected mechanical form conversion, and packaging at the plant gate. The reference route produces cured and dried vanilla; one selected_product_form is declared for each foreground data package: whole, split, cut, ground_or_powdered, or pulp_and_seeds. Conditional form-conversion processes are activated only by that declaration and are never averaged together.

The PCR covers processed vanilla made from declared Vanilla species when the incoming pod lot, curing route, final form, moisture basis, class/grade, and package configuration are traceable. Agricultural cultivation and transport to the curing facility are upstream; their datasets are linked to the received fresh-pod input. Ethanol or other solvent extraction, maceration, oleoresin production, isolated or synthetic vanillin, vanilla-flavoured formulations, and finished foods are excluded. In particular, an extract route must not be appended to or averaged with the cured-pod route in this PCR.
