1. Scope and Applicability

This PCR instance covers one deliberately narrow route: food-grade ground nutmeg made only from the dried shelled seed of Myristica fragrans Houtt. The foreground begins with receipt of dried whole shelled nutmeg kernels and ends with steam-decontaminated, ground and sieved nutmeg powder packed in a 25 kg multiwall kraft-paper sack with an LDPE liner at the processor gate.

The route lock is species=Myristica_fragrans_Houtt; product_form=ground_powdered_seed; microbial_reduction=saturated_steam_continuous; post_treatment_drying=electric_hot_air; package=25_kg_kraft_sack_with_ldpe_liner. It does not average nutmeg with mace or cardamom, and it does not average whole, broken and powdered forms. 5. System Boundary

The foreground begins at the reporting facility's receipt of dried whole shelled Myristica fragrans kernels with an upstream dataset and ends at release of conforming packed ground powder at the same facility gate. Included operations are receiving inspection, dry sorting and foreign-matter control, continuous saturated-steam treatment, electric redrying and ambient cooling, hammer milling, sieving, dust collection, metal control, lined-sack packing, routine dry sanitation, conditional controlled wet cleaning, on-site wastewater collection before transfer, waste handling before transfer, and direct releases.
