1. Scope and Applicability

This PCR applies to the cultivation and farm-gate handover of paddy rice that remains in the husk and is classified as CPC 3.0 code 01132, “Rice paddy, other (not husked).” It covers irrigated and rainfed production, and direct-seeded and transplanted establishment, provided that the production route, water regime, geography, crop season, and farm-gate condition are declared.

The foreground boundary begins immediately before the first land-preparation or seed-bed activity for the crop cycle and ends when unprocessed paddy is handed over at the farm gate. It includes land and seed-bed preparation, crop establishment, nutrient and crop-protection management, water management, field operations, harvest, threshing, and any on-farm cleaning, drying, or storage performed before handover. Upstream production of purchased inputs is represented by linked datasets. Direct field emissions are included. Milling, husking, parboiling, off-farm processing, packaging, and transport after farm-gate handover are excluded.

The PCR is dataset-production first. It defines the foreground records needed to construct a paddy cultivation data package and its downstream process or lifecyclemodel projection.
