1. Scope and Applicability
This rule covers a newly manufactured, assembled motor-vehicle body (coachwork) supplied at the factory gate, before installation of the engine, powertrain, separate chassis, seats, electronics or other vehicle equipment. Record whether the delivered body is uncoated or coated; include the coating operation only for a coated body. The foreground boundary includes body-sheet forming, joining, rework, and, when performed before body release, surface preparation, coating and curing. Supplier production of purchased inputs is represented by upstream datasets. This is a body product rule, not a whole-vehicle use or end-of-life rule. The boundary follows the distinct CPC body, chassis and body-parts headings and the assembled-body description in the EDAG report.
