1. Scope and Applicability
This PCR applies to the foreground manufacture and factory-gate release of finished instruments and apparatus whose principal function is physical or chemical analysis, measurement or checking of viscosity, porosity, expansion, surface tension or similar properties, or measurement or checking of quantities of heat, sound, or light. It covers electrically powered and non-electrical products only when their declared principal function and product classification fall within CPC 48253.
The PCR is production-data-first. It defines a mass-normalized foreground data package for a declared model or model family. It does not supply default use profiles, service lifetimes, calibration intervals, consumable demand during use, or end-of-life scenarios. Those aspects require a product-specific study or an applicable product-specific rule.
2. Product Category Identity
| Field | Value |
|---|---|

| classification_refs | CPC 3.0: 48253 (exact) |
| covered_products | Finished physical or chemical analyzers and instruments; viscometers; porosimeters; dilatometers; surface-tension instruments; calorimetric, sound-measuring, and light-measuring instruments and apparatus when classified in CPC 48253 |
| excluded_products | Thermometers, pyrometers, barometers, hygrometers, and psychrometers; flow, level, or pressure instruments; electricity supply meters; ionizing-radiation instruments; mechanical-properties testing machines; automatic regulating or controlling apparatus; standalone parts, accessories, calibration services, and laboratory consumables |
| representative_product | A finished, calibrated or release-tested analytical or measurement instrument at the factory gate, represented by a declared product model or mass-weighted model family |

| market_state | Finished product, manufactured; production mix, at plant; net instrument mass reported separately from distribution packaging |
3. Reference Flow
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| What | Provision at the factory gate of a finished instrument or apparatus within this PCR scope |
| How much | 1 kg net mass of released finished product, excluding separately reported distribution packaging |
| How well | Conforms to the declared measurement principle, measured quantity, operating range, resolution, accuracy or uncertainty statement, and applicable release-test or calibration criteria |

| Reference amount | 1 kg |
| Reference product flow | Instruments and apparatus for physical or chemical analysis, for measuring or checking viscosity, porosity, expansion, surface tension or the like, or for measuring or checking quantities of heat, sound or light 529b86b6-3103-4ca8-b9ae-0fbcadfb0a80 |
| Reference flow property | Mass 93a60a56-a3c8-11da-a746-0800200b9a66 |
| Reference unit group | Units of mass 93a60a57-a4c8-11da-a746-0800200c9a66 |

| Required qualifiers | declared product model or model-family rule; measured quantity or analytical principle; instrument configuration and included accessories; measurement range; resolution; accuracy or uncertainty statement; power-supply type; calibration or release-test basis; net product mass; packaging status; manufacturing site and geography; production period |
When constructing a foreground data package, the items listed in Required qualifiers must be declared in dataset metadata, process notes, reference flow comment, product description, or an equivalent data package field. Missing required qualifiers make the reference flow definition incomplete for that data package.

boundary_use_end_of_life_exclusion | Dataset claim | Exclude distribution after the factory gate, installation, use-stage electricity and consumables, maintenance, recalibration in service, and end-of-life unless a downstream study adds explicit product-specific scenarios without changing this foreground inventory. | iec-63366-2025 |
